i was swimming outdoors when the band (only a few months old) broke and my watch was swept away. most expensive swim of my life. do not depend on this band to actually keep your watch attached to your wrist.
also, it's been impossible to get in contact with customer support about what happened.

Lost watch because of poor design

the wrist band does not secure the watch for swimming. i jumped into a lake after owning my new watch3 for only 3 months, this wristband failed, and samsung will not stand behind their product. beware that the warranty only covers the device if you have it in your possession and it doesn't cover a poor design.

Nothing For Older Watches?

i have a gear s2 and it appears there are no bands that attach to the watch. my band has a metal clip, not the pins that all of the bands have now. the watch works fine, but the clip on one of the bands fell off. i'm using the smaller band that came with the watch, but it is a little tight.

i bought this band because i hated the leather band that came with the watch. well this band is perfect; it is nice and soft silicone, so no more terrible rubbing on my wrist and it fits perfectly to my wrist, so no more of the watch face sliding underneth my wrist. i love this band, but it did take me several minutes of looking at the pictures on here to get it put on the right way. though once i got it setup right it works perfectly, it's easy, and it's comfortable. i highly recommend.

maybe i'm not putting this band on correctly, but i have not been able to put this on by myself without it taking more than 2 minutes to figure out the locking mechanism.
i really love the look of this band. the black band doesn't scream "sporty" but can handle anything that i've thrown at it.
maybe i will get the hang of the mechanism after a little while but i can't for the life of me figure out why they would design it this way. in case anyone didn't know this, silicone rubber really doesn't like to slide against itself. in this implementation, you have to tuck the long end of the band between your wrist and the short end and then begin inching it closed.
i'll give it a few more weeks and then revise my review accordingly.
