We had a Whirpool Duet for years and loved it, so when it finally died, I wanted to get a new Whirlpool. I bought this based on the good reviews but am disappointed. I can't believe there is no interior light. I didn't even look to see it this was a feature because I thought no one even made a dryer without a light. That would be like checking to see if a car had a steering wheel. It's impossible to see inside, so forget about finding that matching sock. It dries just fine, but for this reason alone I would not recommend it, and I certainly would not buy again.

Repeated E3F3 error code, dryer stops mid cycle!

Don't buy this dryer. I thought I was purchasing a high end dryer and it has been nothing but a headache. It keeps getting an E3F3 error code. I had to wait weeks for a service call, which was then cancelled! Now have to wait another 3 weeks! Does anyone in this company understand what it's like not being able to do laundry for that long? They talk about their great service when you are on hold, but this is not good service if you have to wait so long for a repair. On a brand new dryer! Based on other comments, I see that this is an issue with this dryer. They shouldn't even be selling it unless they figure out the problem and fix it. I'm so very disappointed. I thought I was buying a quality product from a good company.

Many drying options that are easy to use and very versatile. Quiet when running. Easy to clean lint trap. I put 2 stars by sound because I would like the "done" dings to be much louder so I can hear them from other parts of my house. It's a pleasant sound though

I should have read the reviews more carefully before purchasing. We've had the same problems as others - dryer first arrived 9/9, has never worked. E3F3 error code plus smoke and a burning smell. Multiple repair visits -- had to wait weeks for each one -- and many parts replaced. Problem persists. Finally got 3 loads dried after the latest repair and then the smoke, burning smell, and F3 error came back. Whirlpool has been horrible - no help, no recognition that for a family of six, months of no working dryer means hundreds of dollars spent at the laundromat while we wait for them to do something. Best they can offer now is to pick up the machine and send us a check in 3+ weeks. That does not help me get a new dryer in any reasonable time frame.

I was able to switch to a gas dryer when my prior non Whirlpool gave up. This is such an improvement. Drying time is better and clothes are softer and fewer wrinkles. Only issue is the sheets tend to ball up but not nearly as bad as my previous dryer.

We live on the 2nd floor of a 9 story condo. Dryer keeps shutting down with a E3F3 error (overheating). We have learned that if the dryer is installed more than 55ft. from the where the vent expires from the exterior of the building (not the vent connection in the wall), it will continue to overheat and shut itself down. Due to "improper installation" we are now stuck with it. Never had this problem with previous 3 dryers.

This dryer has more features than I ever knew I needed. The drying options are fairly intuitive - first choose WHAT to dry and then choose HOW to dry it. If you want to add on more "modifiers" (various drying options), you can at this point or you can just start drying you laundry.
I think there's a little bit of a learning curve for figuring out which setting works best for your laundry because there have been a few times where I chose a combo of drying options and my laundry wasn't completely dry.
My favorite feature is the steam refresh which reduces wrinkles and odors from dry items. There's also a sanitize cycle provides care for your clothes in the dryer while eliminating 99.9% of common household bacteria. Another neat option is the EcoBoost option. EcoBoost option saves energy by using less heat and an extended cycle time Savings may vary by load type.
You'll need to purchase a universal connector kit as it is not included with the dryer. It is approximately $25.
There is a slight smell of the new material warming up (as mentioned in the manual) when you run the first half dozen cycles or so, but it did not cause my laundry to smell funny.
Instructions were easy to follow and dryer was easy & fast set up. Set up: screw on the feet, connect gas, electrical and water lines.

This dryer was purchased new 6days ago and while dryer a set of twin sheets (practically empty) it gave off a strong burning smell. The clothes smelt like smoke. I'm not getting much help from Whirlpool. Gave me an appointment 10 days out. When I called back to see if we could try someone else I got a real attitude. ID#2132 in Michigan. I spent $1100.00 on this dryer. Last time I'll buy Whirlpool!!
